Alzheimer's Society Donation

Parndon Wood Crematorium is very pleased to provide a donation of £1927 to our chosen charity for 2015, the Alzheimer's Society. The donation will be allocated to the Harlow area where the Alzheimer's Society have an office in the Latton Bush Centre.

The funds have been raised as a result of our 'Recycling of Metals Scheme' whereby metals recovered after the cremation are collected by a specialist UK based recycling company. Any money raised from this recycling is then returned to the crematorium. This is carried out with the consent of the families whose loved one's are cremated at Parndon Wood.

Tori Ablard, Regional Community Fundraising manager for the Alzheimer's Society stated 'We are very grateful to Parndon Wood Crematorium for considering us for this donation. It is an unusual way of raising funds and we appreciate the kindness of all the families who have helped the crematorium raise this money for our cause'.

Parndon Wood manager, Jason King stated 'In the five years we have been managing the crematorium we have raised nearly £10'000 for local bereavement and health related charities as a result of our recycling scheme. It is so humbling to think that families who have experienced the loss of a loved one are helping us to help others during their difficult time'.

Further details of our metals recycling scheme can be found on our website.
