Remembrance Day at Parndon Wood Crematorium
Parndon Wood Cemetery & Crematorium is inviting local people to visit on Sunday 13 November when it is opening up its chapel between 10am and 12.30pm for Remembrance Day.
A two-minute silence will be observed at 11am as a mark of respect and the rest of the time reflective music will be played in the chapel.
Visitors will be able to light a candle in remembrance and can also buy poppies in support of the Royal British legion.
Parndon Wood Cemetery & Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, the UK’s largest owner and operator of crematoria and cemeteries, with 37 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide pleasant, tranquil places for people to visit and reflect.
Site Manager Vivienne Centala said: “Remembrance Day is a time when so many people pause to think about all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
“Our chapel and grounds provide a fitting place for people to visit and make their own remembrance. All are welcome.
“We wanted to do something for Remembrance Day as part of our continuing efforts to play a positive role in local community life and to engage with the people who live in the area surrounding our beautiful site.”
